Application Servers

Application Servers manage the communication between applications and application components. Several application servers specialize in Web development, like Zope, ColdFusion, or Zend, and others specialize in broader development areas, like Enhydra or BEA Weblogic. Application servers generally manage a set of modules that provide business logic, security, and connection to databases.

An integration server like Open3.org is essential for deploying applications that must access data and functionality from disparate systems. In the age of Web and wireless application development, many software engineers face the frustrating task of connecting to enterprise applications and legacy systems. Open3.org adapters permit software developed under the auspices of an application server platform to quickly and easily integrate with other systems.
