CRM software varies widely in it's features and capabilities, but all share the common theme of better serving customers through automated processes. There are hundreds of CRM applications on the market, vendors like Siebel, Vantive, and Clarify lead the industry.
The Open3.org integration system is immensely useful to integrating CRM applications. To be truly effective, CRM apps must be able to organize customer information from various sources and be able to connect with other enterprise applications, like real-time inventory reporting or supply-chain management.
